Notes:
This collection, first published in 1649, is based on the earlier collections of Joachim Perion and Henri Estienne; cf. prelim. p. [5]. BLC erroneously states they are the editors of this work. The editor is unknown; neither can he be Jobus Veratius, whose essay has been used by the editor as a preface to this collection.
